Privacy Policy

Swamp Rabbit Analytics, LLC ("we", "us") operates trail counters for greenway managers and provides the platform and mobile app they use to review that data. This policy covers three things: what our counters sense on the trail, what our platform stores, and what the Swamp Rabbit Analytics Android app collects.

What our counters sense

Our counters use 24 GHz mmWave radar. They detect that something moved past a point, how fast it was going, and in which direction.

They do not record video, still images, or audio. They do not capture faces, license plates, phone identifiers, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi addresses, or anything else that identifies a person or a device. There is no camera and no microphone in the hardware.

A radar detection is an anonymous event: a timestamp, a speed, a direction, and the counter that saw it. We cannot tell who passed a counter, and we cannot follow an individual person from one counter to the next.

What the mobile app collects

The app is for our clients and field technicians and requires an account. It collects:

• Account information. The email address and organization used to sign in, and an authentication token stored on your device so you stay signed in.
• Device location. Requested only when you open the map or use field tools, and used to centre the map on you and to help match nearby counters during service visits. Location is used on the device for those features; we do not build a history of your movements, and you can decline the permission and still use the rest of the app.
• Counter data you request. Usage figures and counter health for the sites your organization is granted access to.
• Diagnostics you generate. When a technician services a counter over Bluetooth, the resulting diagnostic output and configuration changes are recorded against that counter.

The app has no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no advertising identifier. We do not sell data.

Bluetooth and location permissions

Field technicians connect to a counter over Bluetooth Low Energy to run diagnostics and apply firmware updates. Android requires Bluetooth scanning permission for this. Our scan is declared neverForLocation, meaning we do not use Bluetooth scan results to derive your location.

Who owns the counter data

Trail managers own the usage data collected on their trails. We store and process it to run the service and to produce the counts, visits, and trip estimates shown in the platform. Access is scoped per organization — a client sees their own sites, not another client's.

Who else touches the data

We keep the number of third parties small, and we use them as service providers, not as data recipients in their own right:

• Hosting and database infrastructure for the platform.
• A cellular network operator, to carry counter telemetry.
• Map tile and public weather data providers, whose data we read; requests for map tiles carry the map area being viewed.
• Google Play, for app distribution and crash reporting you opt into at the OS level.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Retention

Anonymous counter detections and the usage figures derived from them are retained for the life of the client relationship, because trend comparison over years is the point of the service. Account records are kept while the account is active. Device diagnostic logs are retained on a rolling basis for troubleshooting.

Your choices

You can revoke the app's location or Bluetooth permissions at any time in Android settings. You can sign out to remove the stored authentication token from your device.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and its associated personal data, email info@swamprabbitanalytics.com. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting an account does not delete the anonymous trail detections, which contain no personal information and belong to the trail manager.

Children

The app is a professional tool for trail managers and technicians. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for material changes we will notify account holders by email.
